Education and Training Courses

Club Courses

The Association has now withdrawn funding for Safeguarding Courses, given that these courses are effectively provided free of charge by Swim NW.   We would recommend that any club wishing to run a Safeguarding course contact Swim NW in the first instance for details of their scheme and conditions for funding.  June 2014

Funding is available from North Lancs SWPA of up to £400 per annum, to fund the formal training of coaches by member clubs.  Applications are welcome in respect of any aquatic discipline,   to include teaching & coaching at all levels recognised by the ASA.

Grants are capped at the lower of the actual cost of the course(s) and £400 and will be paid once the course has occurred and been paid for.

Claims must be made within the Association’s financial year, i.e. before 30th September.  Any claims received after September will be considered from the following year’s allocation.

All claims must be made on the official form , which should be sent to the Association Treasurer at the address on the form, together with a copy of the paid invoice in respect of the course(s).

The form must be signed by the club secretary , to confirm the candidate’s attendance on the course.

To be eligible the claimant club must be fully up to date with its affiliation and swim league fees.

Given that there is sometimes a delay in production of certificates by the IOS, it is no longer necessary to submit certificates either with or subsequent to the claim.

Club delegates should collect their cheque at  the Executive meeting subsequent to the claim.
